classics combaticon vortex

3rd one down...just a couple more to go(i haven't even primed brawl or blast off yet but soon though...)donor bot was energon bulkhead but again,a few small mods.his head is bulkheads original,just with his ears chopped down,goggles removed and a visor added.his mouth and robo -mustache thing was sanded completely off into a mouth plate ala g1.his stock twin launchers on his legs are still functional,i just have to track down some missiles.the launchers have also had a small steel bar fused to each of them at a certain area for something fun later on.his rotor spinning action still works too.iv'e also added another set of twin cannons just in front of his main rotor.the 2 twin cannons on his nose in copter mode just mount into 2 stock holes.the booster jets on his tail are from a green "zoids" dinosaur thing.the most noticable change in bot mode is the addition of 5 cannon barrels per shoulder and the head.once the grey cured,i like the color so much i tried not to over do it with the purple and blue areas,yet some how make him as g1-ish as possible.the last two pics of him in battlecopter mode are just a couple of teasers for what's coming soon.the two ginormouse armnaments house multiple rows of cannon tips and mortar launchers.to attach them,put them just close to each other and the strong magnets do the rest.then swoop down with vortex and voila...kickass copter!!.(remember the previously mentioned "steel bars"?)the grey color is duplicolor enamel,the blue and blacks are tamiya acrylics,all coated in krylon matte clear.
....and yes,i know....it was coming.....let the robo balls/devi balls jokes commence!!!!

Great job Chans! Great paint, nice head scuplt, very G1ish and yet modern. Very classics!

I think I know what those ginormous weapons pods are for...

Re: classics combaticon vortex

great work chans, i like the magnetic "missile pods" nice use of unicron's forearms, if i was ever to do a bruticus, bulkhead would be my mold choice for vortex

i know what you're thinking and you're right but they have yet another purpose besides bruticus's forearms and vortex's battlemode.......

thanks.the hardest part was making sure the cannon tips weren't too long,preventing bruticus's hands from folding back inside.the silver color is only the base coat so far.next up comes the real colors onto the pods

Do the rest of the Combaticons in the Superlink Sprang/Energon Bulkhead price point and you got one HELL of a Bruticus.

nice "ball" joint and "stick" in the front of vortex

Looks great, can't wait to see the combined form (with unicron's hands?)!

way ahead of you my friend
the recipe ended up being...

onslaught=cyb. leader prime
vortex=energon voy. bulkhead
swindle=marvel xover captain america(pretty much voyager sized)
brawl=uni. voy. dropshot
blastoff=i just switched out classics astrotrain for energon voy. jetfire,all thanks to nocturn

so basically all of bruticus's limbs are voyager class tf's while the main chunk is leader class sized...add them up together and you get a towering monstrosity of unglued destruction
