Every single size class in the TLK line is overpriced at full retail. Even when they go on sale, they're still not that great a deal. At these prices, you might as well wait and see what Takara's versions will look like because at these price levels, they're nearly on par with their import counterparts.

For TLK (and most other movie toys in other film lines like ROTF and the first movie), the Takara counterparts to these same toys dont look any different. They have all been revealed now and they look the same.

I guess people didnt mind these high prices then. And even if everyone used a coupon, it still means no one would have waited for a sale if these were the same price as TR leaders.
