Dec 13th – TR Alpha Trion

Hmmmm. What can I say about this figure, not one my favourites that's for sure. He will have to grow on me. Right out of the package he has not shown me the lion within but instead the desire to be a ballerina or gymnast. Every time I tried to pose him he insisted on doing the splits in bot mode and spaceship mode. By comparison to the only other Alpha Trion I have he is taller, twice as wide and half the weight. Goes to show how heavy the other one is. Draw whatever inferences from this that you want, but if it only takes 22.47 plus tax to get him to open his legs that frequently than … just sayin’. The horned lion mode isn’t that great either at least for me so to be honest I’m not sure I’ll keep him. I really did want him when I first heard about the release, then wasn’t fond of the official pics, but tried to like him. At least this toy isn’t a complete piece of… oh wait a minute.

Dec 14th – The Covenant of Primus

HOLY

CRAPTASTIC

AWESOMSAUCE!

This thing is freaking amazing. The outer sleeve, the pizza box, the transforming case, the sound effects, the book, the illustrations, where does it end? Wow I’m blown away. I’ve only heard about this from Beast Wars and obviously not the same thing and props to theoneyouknowleast for pointing it out on Amazon. I can see why they charge as much as they do for it bit to get it for the price it was at is just incredible. I can’t wait to give this book a good read and now to figure out where I’m going to hang the case. Oh if I didn’t mention it the case has sound affects when you have to get to the book. This is sssoooooo cool!

Dec 15th – Platinum Edition CW Liokaiser

All I can say about this is wow. I have yet to watch Victory all the way through and can barely make it through a disc without falling asleep although I keep watching it in my recliner so that may have something to do with it. I’ve always been a big fan of combiners, not sure why, but they always fascinate me and Liokaiser does not disappoint. Yes he is a series of remolds and lacks his “true” Victory form but this is my favourite Hasbro combiner (having a better set of feet may have something to do with that since I didn’t use the CW standard). He has a great look and I gave him some other add-ons like a BFG, the head sculpts are great and I prefer Dezarus to Sky Lynx. I did try the standard configuration as shown in the instructions but with PE feet I went for a more cartoon appearance and really, really like that look more. Feet are the wrong colour but I can live with that. Picked them up off eBay for a good price and they are the KO Black Bruticus feet in case you are wondering. Also picked him up through some unusual but necessary circumstances and managed to get him for under $100 taxes included thanks to dingd0ng, a bunch of Walmart gift cards and rewards $’s on my CC. NOTE: This was even before the $50 drop on Walmart.ca. Even if I had paid full price it wouldn’t diminish that he is right behind Takara Computron and not by much I might add. Great figure!
