Re: BC Community Thread For Non-Sightings Chat
Not trying to add to your worries, but I got dinged as well for customs last time when I ordered UW Devestator from HLJ.

Re: BC Community Thread For Non-Sightings Chat
Just to add my voice to the other side, my Laserwave from HLJ did not get charged customs fees. I think it's somewhat random what does and doesn't get charged, but more expensive shipments are of course more susceptible.

Yeah, it definitely was more expensive last time. While it is random whether you get dinged or not, I think a larger declared value definitely increases your chances.

Msol got dinged too on laserwave. It's not HLJ that gets singled out since I've been hit on an AA order too, it just seems more frequently recently. Good luck man!

Re: BC Community Thread For Non-Sightings Chat
I've actually gotten away from shipping to my home in Vancouver, (I got dinged $40 brokerage fees on a $30 dollar item via fedex late last year.) All my packages go to Blaine now, pick up my TF , Milk, Cheese, and gas all at the same time. Knock on wood, I've declared over $280 dollars to the border agent and was never stopped.
With my wife and 2 kids in the car... I've even declared $600 dollars for a set of new tires for the car and got waived through.

I always have wondered if that was a better option. Just wondering though are you just referring to packages that ship from the US? I would imagine a package coming from Japan could still possibly be dinged for customs being shipped to the US. Would be awesome if someone that has experience with this could chime in.

I'm not sure about overseas shipping to a US address, since I've only used it for US purchases. But if it is $600 dollar import exemption, that's a lot better then paying Canadian duty.
