What, you don't recognize Protoman! Anyhow, he was closer to the washrooms and the only person (from what I remember) selling My Little Pony

Ah, on the south side towards the back? That was the only table I recall having a really good TF selection. There was one in the centre that was mostly beastformers, I think?

I had a hard time distinguishing where one table ended and where the others began. I didn't know who to talk to about merchandise a lot of the time.

Proto: To answer your remark on the other thread; yeah, my Trypticon has rusted-out coils and won't walk. It's fine, I'm not a hardcore guy and the dealer cut me a big break on the price (I was going to walk away from it).

Scrape the rust off the coils with a knife, you might be able to revive the beast. I did it with my last Trypticon and it worked.

Every year I am offered really cheap tables at Otakuthon and every year I reject it. Otakuthon is one of the worst show for dealers to make money in Montreal. The Anime con goers are more there for cosplay, taking photos and getting cosplay items (which has increased a lot in the past 2-3 years) then buying merch that is more then 20 bucks. (Unless it's a love pillow). Anime North in Toronto is suffering from the same problem and year after year more dealers are pulling out

The easy answer to your question (since you asked) is that I probably would expect at least rudimentary bilingual service from vendors in the Ottawa area, or Moncton, or any other place where both languages are prominent. Obviously I wouldn't go to a Con in Quebec City (or even Madawaska) and expect the same. It should be about practicalities, not politics.

And admittedly there's a little more obligation on the vendor side, though really we should ALL be somewhat semibilingual if we live in this part of the province.

I agree.
I was surprised to hear that about the con. I just assumed they,d be mostly the same dealers as the st.laurent show.
