Re: The Montreal/Quebec Local Fans Banter Thread
Thundertron is worth getting, design and fiction wise to the grand scheme of things. Magnus I would wait cause we got more of that "design" on it's way that no doubt will be better. Dreadwing and Megatron of the older stuff if you missed it. As for Prime/Starscream and Bulkhead, if you skipped it, you had a good reason.

I fully agree. I wasn't sure about Thundertron at first, but once I had him in hand...oh my. His aesthetic doesn't even match Prime, it's more generations than anything. If I recall correctly, he's from the War For Cybertron/Foc generation (novels) so he's technically a classics. Super solid, super fun.
I just can't believe the mechtech weapon crap though..he'd be perfect if his sword was well...not that.

So he is technically classics. Thtron is also nice in A3 colours.

If it did turn into a vehicle of some type and not a lion statue, it would make for a great Alpha Trion indeed.

Prime Bulkhead and Starscream are not bad. The Starscream feels a bit redundant though... it's mostly just a slightly bigger version of the Deluxe figure. With Bulkhead there are things I like about this version, though the First Edition one is still way better overall.
As for Magnus, what do you mean by "we have more of that design on the way"? The ones we have coming are just remolded Prime Optimus figures. The PRID Magnus is at least a new mold with a totally different design... and actually a damn fine figure to boot. The way his leg kibble folds up is especially nice. For $15, he's a steal!
I'm still on the fence about the new remolded Optimus versions. I already have both of those (the FE and the Weaponizer) molds. The new parts are neat, but maybe not enough to pull me in.

The statue part is the most disappointing in that mold.
But I like A3 as a robot lion. I find it fits the character.

I was actually hoping we'd get a Razorclaw remold for him. He has such a nice build that if they remolded his head, crest and foot, he'd make a mean Predacon leader.

You can unscrew that assemly and easily pop out the blade. A little shaving of the "handle" makes it fit his hand.

Ohhh...come now...ya know it could still happen. The mold had only been used twice now. GDO 2.0??

Wow. So many Starscream haters in one forum. For shame.
I like Thundertron & Magnus for many of the reasons mentioned.
