Re: Helping the Americans?

Great thread and I commend you for offering to help. There's a few guys in our own WTB classified section looking for help as well.

I have been ripped off on non transformers related product, via ebay. Money was sent
no item received. It is not a good feeling.

I have a MOMC bulkhead for trade for alternators wheeljack. Check trade forum. Item ships with tracking number. Local pick for Edmonton, Reddeer Calgary, Lethbridge, Vulcan, Athabasca, Planet Cybertron, Unicrons underside, or any of those little towns along the QE2.
I hear you, and I really hate feedback at times. I've had issues before here and ebay... I've been able to resolve all issues and received all funds back, the process was long though.

However we all take that risk when we deal with anyone.

The guy setup trades using pics from others collections. Each item he would agree to recv from you, he would turn around and use that info to trade to someone else, in order to get something else. It was repeated over 35 people. It was an extensive list of stuff he claimed to have. A group of them tried to take legal action against him, but it was all for not.

The CanadianPost mark up shipping fee is already putting us as a unfair level to have a
"fair" trade with the US collector. If you use a super light box or just paper wrapping for the Deluxe figure, it already cost $9 canadian ? and it tend to get bended while acrossing the boarder. If you want the tracking number on the Deluxe, it will be over $16 or 17 Canadian dollars, and with the regular price around $18 (after tax), I don't see if $35 (17+18) a deluxe going to be a good trade or help for both parties ??

Re: Helping the Americans?

this whole poor americans thing is getting pretty old, the same poor americans who are whining about scalpers and us canadian assholes are the same ones who tried to sell me a skyshadow for 40 fucking dollars, and then called me a prick when I told him it would be the same for a prime cliffjumper, long story short yelping about paying mark up for a voyager bulkhead is hypocritical when you have a loose classic starscream for 50.00 in your sale thread, on that note, anyone having issues trying to find anything in canada hit me up and I'll get you at retail, receipts and all, my tru has approximately 2 voyager primes and various arcee, bumblebee and starscream, no bulks, and no movie 2 pack, I'm more than happy to help out my fellow canadian board members, just don't turn around and mark that shit up for your fellow canucks.

To an extent I agree, but it's not fair to say that every American is a scalper just because some Americans have scalped American-exclusive toys in the past. I feel bad for the Americans who have never sold a toy for more than retail value in their lives and now have to deal with scalper prices just because we've decided that it's deserved retribution.

Re: Helping the Americans?

^well said.

like i said before,if i was helped previously by a member/friend/etc over there, then yeah,i'd be more than willing to return the favor.

but sometimes they don't realize that the shipping of stuff to there is hella expensive compared to them sending to us for some odd reason
it just cost me $23.54 to ship a small box containing 2 alternators in it from calgary to the states,no insurance/etc,regular class mail.i don't mind as it was for a good friend, but others may say...."why do you charge so much for shipping?it only costs "blank" to ship from newyork to washington"?

if you do decide to help some peoples out over there,i find the easiest way to avoid all the haggling of shipping prices is to give them "your" postal code, tell "them" to go to canadapost.ca,input it along with the destination/rough size/dimensions,and you can get a instant quote, right from the actual courier.then they decide what they want,be it regular or expedited(which is usually crazy stupidly overpriced)

Re: Helping the Americans?

If I can give this discussion my own 2 cents, I'd like to say that because of this whole "help the poor Americans" thing. Most of us Canadians are also unable to find the Bulkhead figure. And trust me there ARE "Americans" already in possession of the Voyager figures and ALREADY scalping them, thus making it harder for us.

Just the other day I was watching a you tube vlog and the guy for the FIRST TIME EVER is begging the viewers to help him out. Had they tried to help some of us out before. Our reaction would be totally different. And to be honest even if we do help them it isn't like we ourselves are able to find the voyager figures everyday on shelves.
