Re: Fall of Cybertron - Optimus Prime, Jazz and Shockwave

Of the three, Jazz is my least favourite. I like his vehicle mode but as a bot he is lacking in appeal. I also don't like his scale... or maybe Prime and Shockwave should have been much larger. Either way I don't feel that Jazz is of the same quality as the WFC figures.

Re: Fall of Cybertron - Optimus Prime, Jazz and Shockwave

Thanks nice comments about the review. I'm considering getting the Takara version of Prime. After playing the game, the hasbro figure is became even more bland. The Takara one look absolutely fantastic.

I'm going to do a size review of the SDCC Bruticus, and bring some other things like price and the takara version.

With the stress mark mine has straight out of the package, I can attest that Jazz isn't quite up to par in plastic quality and Shockwave's plastic, I've found has a wierd rubbery quality that I'm not used to (most figures I have, seem to have a shinier, slightly harder plastic).

That said, Jazz's size, in a sad way, actually works as he'll now be more in scale with WFC Optimus Prime.

As for sizes in general, if anyone has kept track over the last 2 decades, sizes for "Deluxe" class figures have varied greatly.

We think they have shrunk because the Unicron Trilogy toys through to the first movie lines were much bigger, but the new figs are actually closer to the size of Deluxe Beast Wars figures. [TM Tarantulas is actually shorter than the Deluxe Prime figures (including Knockout). Though they do weigh less due to changes materials over the last 15 years.]
