I think the cashier was confusing Ratchet with Smokescreen which is due out October 1st but then with so
many different street dates for Marvel, Star Wars and Transformers it's hard to not to mix some things up.

When I went to the store and pre-ordered Smokescreen and Ratchet, I was told September 1st and October 1st respectively.
