Not really sure how much I liked this episode despite many fun qualities.
New Autobots: Ironhide, Longarm, Wasp(inator
) and Cliffjumper.
I am getting incredibly tired of the Autobots being represented as jerks in a junior high social circle. This episode is very representitive of this. Ironhide's special ability was good, as was Longarm's. Cliffjumper-Minor maybe?, if he is equal to Sentinel.
The big reveal of this weeks episode was something I think I began suspecting the second I saw Longarm close up, talking. His forehead is very representive of who he really is. Yet this creates problems for me. So all the Autobots are jerks but the Decepticon is the nice guy? None the less, Longarms reveal was very well done and if I had a choice between rooting for the Cybertron Elite Guard or the Decepticon's, the Con's it would be. The Elite Guard seems to be built largely around jerks, with only Jazz standing out as special to me. Why are the human villians so much fun yet the Autobot Elite guard so not-fun?
This also would have been a great oppurtunity to include more of Elita-1.....didn't happen.
Waspinator, himself I didn't pick up on until he was doing the voice right at the end of the episode. Yeah, I'm slow. I just was thinking all episode "Hmmmnn, a Bumblebee repaint named Wasp" and never actually put two and two together. Oh, well I did figure out Longarm's secret identity early so I guess one for two ain't bad.
This series is becoming character heavy at this point, while we have others like Blackarachnia that have been seemingly left in limbo. I minor complaint but I'd love to see future "extra" characters used more the way Cliffjumper was this episode. Kinda background so they don't take too much away from the main story.
This one gets a pass+ from me, with much room for fun stuff in the future. Not quite solid enough to get a good rating despite some fun stuff........
