Re: Preoder laserwave and hotrod AE up

I have ordered my MPs from Anime-Export for some time now.
If all you are doing is ordering from them the experience is great. If you have questions or something like that? Good luck

Sent out a few emails to them about upcoming pre-orders in the past and never received so much as a response.

That being said if you just want to exchange money for goods, it's a decent experience

HLJ - MP Shockwave
13440 yen

111.75 US (according to their site conversion rate)
112.06 US (according to XE conversion app on my phone)

HLJ doesn't accept CND dollars so there would be an additional conversion rate through PayPal or Credit Card.

N-Y - MP Shockwave
11420 yen

100.50 US (according to their site conversion rate)
95.21 US (according to XE conversion app on my phone)
130.19 CND (according to their site conversion rate)
123.58 CND (according to XE conversion app on my phone)

I'm just trying to gather whether paying in Canadian at N-Y is actually beneficial to me. Cause it seems N-Y is padding the conversion rate on their site. I may be misunderstanding the numbers though.
Don't they just charge Yen into your credit card? Then the credit card would have to do the conversion.

Do NY usually get charged by custom? Can you cancel later?

Also, do you guys usually make a single order for multiple items (will they be shipped together?)? Or do you make separate orders?

Thanks.

Do these sound reasonable?

Shockwave
ECO Registered 24.11 US (46.02 for two)
EMS 35.20 US (59.84 for two)

Hot Rod
ECO Registered 13.55 US (20.59 for two)
EMS 17.95 US (31.68 for two)
Sounds reasonable. It has cost me $18 to ship something about that size to Newfoundland. This is coming even further.

Honestly it was like Sophie's Choice deciding whether I'd go for MP Laserwave too or be content with Quakewave. In the end the "poetry" of having two 3P versions of two major MP Decepticons (Apollyon and Quakewave) convinced me to just order Hot Rod.

Ordered Shockwave from HLJ at a much cheaper price than BBTS.

I just looked out side and the sky was blue. Oh sorry , I thought the were stating the obvious haha. Just messing around, smart move with not going with bbts and buying overseas. I never order any 3rd party or mp figures from bbts because it's always cheaper anywhere else. I think we ordered our group buy from anime export.

Re: Preoder laserwave and hotrod AE up

I had done plenty Neca with BBTS because I couldn't find shit here. Big B didn't really get in to the Neca figures I collect and TRU's AMAZING COLLECTORS CORNER that is essentially non-existent.
Although lately Big B has started to get in that stuff I normally would order from BBTS and TRU magically did too, Neca I mean.
Shockwave, Slipstream, Blackarachnia and Nightbird are significantly cheaper from HLJ than BBTS or Automaton, and when things are priced in USD, I gotta go elsewhere like HLJ. Plus I have never had issues with them in the past, so, not really a big deal to buy mostly from them.
I wish I could still afford to use Automaton, but with the dollar and them being comparable to BBTS pricing, it's just no longer possible. I am for the CW Dev addon kits though, Automaton. I'm fine with that.

Re: Preoder laserwave and hotrod AE up

I guess we can't do a cost comparison of AE vs HLJ until shipping rates are known. Did anybody else get UW Menasor from AE? I can post up my total price from HLJ to compare.

I'm willing to pay a bit more for the customer service HLJ gives. I have no questions or issues for AE unless things go sideways.

I did. AE charged me 10,500 yen for Menasor and 4000 yen to ship it. Exchange rates also changed from the time of placing to the order to the time of shipping it our crappy dollar dipped another nickel. In the end, I paid $159.63 CDN, shipped.
