Re: Rev's Toys

Nostalgia is a wonderful thing, especially when you can now afford to fullfill some of those childhood dreams.

Re: Rev's Toys

Speaking of nostalgia, this is why I'll never stop being a fan even if (if, lol!) the MP line gets 'completed'. I have specific goals to achieve with my collection, and every time I see my stuff it gives me the same great feeling. It took a few years to get to this point, and I'm still trimming things down. But knowing what you want is a great first step. Now that Takara is cranking out some new MPs, we're definitely on pace for future awesomeness.

Rev, seeing your Detolfs lets me know that I probably need two more

Re: Rev's Toys

I wish I could believe that! I was going to get three...I even had the third one in the cart, but removed it knowing that 3 is no 4, and four is far more symmetrical! But two?...my MPs alone will look crowded with only that many shelves, and I still have to incorporate my G1 figures.

Four should be about right

Re: Rev's Toys

Everyone's running out room.

I need more display cases myself.

first world problems man.

I might scan through kijiji again. I got a really good deal on both my detolfs last time.

There's also the option of customizing/upgrading the detolf to add more shelving.

they are nice units but the space is very limited I would like for them to offer a double sized one that would be awesome

Re: Rev's Toys

I was looking at mine (I have 3) and came up with a way to turn the 3 into 5.

I realized that if I use 2 slabs, 83 3/4" long x 16 3/4" wide I could cut the slots with a dato blade for the glass and drill/countersink holes for the rods and widen the whole bunch to have 5 glass panels in the back 2 in the front with the 3 opening panels in the front also.

Maybe even throw in a decent base with drawers and a crown moulding up top to to hide the pot lights that could be installed along the top.

In essence the side glass that normally sits side by side when the units are together could be removed and used for more front and rear panels, making three wide turn to five wide.

I think that is the one thing that has stopped me from buying Detolfs. I need them to be about 6-8 inches wider for certain figures
