Was Voyager Animated Bulkhead an Automorph?
Just got the Voyager sized Bulkhead from Transformers Animated, and while tinkering with it, I noticed a little black stick-like button on his arm. Upon pressing it the arm curled up via some springs. I figured it was a lame "action feature" that was overlooked in the instructions.
Later, when transforming it from Marshmallow to Robot, I noticed the button was accessible through the passenger side door, but nothing happened when pressed. However, the shoulders are spring loaded, and will fly to their torso location (but not lock) during transformation. So I looked a little more carefully. There seems to be clues that Bulkhead was to be an "automorphing" transformer, but re-tooled to eliminate that feature. If the panels that make up the skin of the truck were much looser, than activating the the "arm curl action feature" would cause the right arm to punch up and push the all the truck panels away, while sending the shoulders to the torso. The torso itself has a nifty automorph allready; is it too much of a stretch to believe the whole toy was supposed to be an automorph?
And what the heck is that black button for, anyway?
