^ This! This whole FanExpo thing is awful and "cliquey". Forget about them!

We have our TF Convention, and two other vintage toy themed conventions (Fall and Spring) let's be happy with that and to hell with FanExpo!

Re: FanExpo say "Transformers does not have a big enough draw for our show"

Fan Expo just deletes any post about Transformers . These guys like what kinda company running a public event does that. Show some respect for people who attend your show. It's not like anyone is saying anything offensive " where are the Transformers guests this year?" DELETE "Are they going to be any Transformers related stuff at the show" DELETE "No Love for Transformers?" DELETE

How does the moderator on facebook still have a job??

Maybe they think "TFCon just passed they can't possibly have any cash left after something like that!"

Not sure what the big deal is. So they don't want to have a big transformers presence there, big deal. If they don't believe that that 27 years, 3 massive blockbuster movies and an amazing fan base is not enough of a draw for their show then that is their own short sightedness that will ultimately lose them money.

This is going to be my last year at Fan Expo , I promised my little sister I would take her , Otherwise I wouldn't go . They just lost a customer who has gone every year for over a decade and they can thank there online staff.

TFcon gets all my covention money from now on.

Re: FanExpo say "Transformers does not have a big enough draw for our show"

I don't know what the big deal is about fanexpo's lack of transformer love, this is why we have Tfcon after all.

It's not as if its a transformer wasteland, hasbro was there last year (and is coming again this year) and a lot of the venders have toys. Idw usually has a booth. Artist alley usually has an artist or two with transformer artwork.

As to why they don't get more (or any) transformer celebrities is that besides Frank Welker and Peter Cullen no other voice actor is recognizable except by the transformers fandom. Besides nothing is worse that waiting to sign autographs and have no one ask. I remember a couple of years ago my wife and I were at fanexpo waiting in line for an autograph (don't remember who) and the actor that played Chewbacca was at a table to sign autographs. We waited in line for an hour and in that hour not one person when up to him for his autograph. Not one. Not a single person and there were plenty of star wars fans at fanexpo. Now when I walked by later his did have some fans but still to wait for hours and hours without any attention is kinda demoralizing.

I enjoy fanexpo because it's a little bit of everything and to be honest I spend most of my money in artist alley supporting the independent artists.

I am very happy Tfcon exists and will continue to attend it for years to come for all its transformer goodness.

Re: FanExpo say "Transformers does not have a big enough draw for our show"

Frankly, it doesn't surprise me that they'd say that. They tried a transformers-centred show a number of years ago, if I recall correctly, and it didn't go that well for them.

I'm sure they're content to just aim for the broadest possible appeal with their show, a model that seems to be working for what they're trying to grow into. The reason they have entire casts for shows like Lost Girl is more likely because of a cross-promotional relationship than because the staff of Fan Expo sought out the entire cast to come.

Re: FanExpo say "Transformers does not have a big enough draw for our show"

Unless Hasbro actually makes a decent attempt at a display for TFCON like at Botcon or even SDCC they're participation is meaningless to me....3 figures and some crappy lego KO's is hardly worth my attention. Wake up Hasbro, this is TFCON, Canada's premier Transformers convention. At least they brought some exclusives up here last year and now nothing...what do we have to do to get some Hasbro convention love, our dollar is worth more and they'll make more money from us.
