Studio Series 86 Voyager Ironhide First Look

Making its way across the web is our first look at the upcoming Studio Series 86 Voyager Ironhide! Shown only in robot mode for now, Ironhide is looking pretty accurate to his G1 cartoon model and comes with his gun. He also appears to be a new mold and not based on the WFC releases as some had speculated. We hope to see an official reveal soon, but until then you can check out the image after the break and let us know your first impressions on the boards!

HM. I'm not blown away but this could be really cool.

It looks like they threw together some spare parts. The thighs and biceps are super skinny. I am dreading seeing the backside and all the hollowness that is apparent.
I'll wait to see a transformation, and what exactly it turns into, but this just looks lazy for a deluxe. Oh wait, it's a voyager. Yeesh.
Apart from having a chest window (and a head), this doesn't look like the character much at all.

Structurally it appears to have much in common w Siege/ER sculpt, but yeah, I’m open to seeing more

Looks like a new design to me. I'm not seeing a lot of hold-over parts from Siege or Earthrise Ratchet.

Intriguing. I have the Prowl pack already. Hope they make Ratchet.

I wonder why everyone is so negative? This is clearly much better than the WFC ER Ironhide. More toon accurate robot and probably a good van mode too without a massive surfboard/shield. I'm excited for it.

And ER Ironhide may plummet in price (as long as they don't make this new SS86 one an exclusive either - so far neve happened with SS86 but who knows... GRR).

This is another case where the big problem is the line's commitment to '80s accuracy. G1 Ironhide just wasn't a very interesting character design. I'd much rather if they made something like an upscaled version of the TFP Cyberverse Commander version; something that was similar enough to be recognizable as the same character but also took things in its own direction.
