Like the title states, what if Transformers was owned by Disney instead, what would the outcome of the franchise be like? Would we have what we have today? A huge fandom, 4 movies and a 5th one coming out late June, a huge toyline, a huge comic book list, novels, games etc...

I dunno, Disney pimps everything out forever. Look at Frozen and Star Wars.
No, please no. I like my entertainment to come from different competing sources.
Lets say one day Disney ends up owning every franchise that's cool. Well, soon they start cutting corners to save money and make more profit and shows and movies that come out start sucking. But that's okay because no one else is out there to compete.

Very agree.
Reports were Botcon years ago at disneyworld was super expensive, even blocked cell reception and you had to use their internet (something in that vein)
They woulda cancelled the independant cons a long time ago to make their gouging profit.
IDW would lose their TF license (not necessarily bad on its own) and it would be controlled by Disney.
How have the Marvel comics generally changed since Disney took over?
I guess it would have similar effects on Transformers.
Then again, we'd be rid of Michael Bay, so it would have its up side!
If Disney owned Transformers, we would have toy aisles like this
Instead of this
Pics cut for length.
You mean shelves stuffed to the brim with gimmicky little kid toys that no one buys even when there are yellow clearance tags all over the place?
As opposed to highly desirable collectable figures that sell out before they even hit the store peg?
Although lets not forget most of those Star Wars toys are from Hasbro anyways. I think those pictures are more indicative of an ordering problem more than anything else. Just wait until the TF5 movie comes out and the bulk of the movie toys arrive. The situation will reverse and we'll have a wall of Bumblebees again.

I think it is pretty clear that the toy industry had reached it's peak a few years ago and have been in steady decline since then. I suppose, as with all popular things, it was bound to happen.
