Re: best tf's of 2008

Hmmm, let's see...I'd have to say on my list are:

Universe:
Sideswipe (I prefer Henkei Sunstreaker to Universe though). The twins were always some of my favorite 'bots, and Sideswipe was my first Transformer ever.

Hound w/ Ravage. I don't have them yet, but Hound was also one of my favorites as a kid, and BT Hound got me back into collecting as an adult. This Universe/Henkei version is the best around, the perfect imagining of the character. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

Animated:
almost all of it, but most notably:

the dinobots, swoop in particular

Jazz,

Prowl,

Oil Slick,

Ultra Magnus.

Biggest surprise of the year: Universe Galvatron. After all the bad press, I didn't really want him, but grabbed him during the $7.50 deluxe TRU sale. He's friggen awesome! Totally badass! Was not expecting it.

Tranformers Crossovers Hulk. Best TF of the year.

Runners-up would be Transformers Animated Sentinel Prime, Oil Slick and Lockdown, in that order.

Animated Voyager Prime. I can't put this figure down. I even bought a second one so I could leave one on display and have another to constantly fiddle with. The axe and gun are weak, but there is some kind of charm about him I really love.

Re: best tf's of 2008

Always a tough thing to choose, but my top 3 would include:

1. City Commander Armor. It took a figure that I really didn't want in the first place and made him instantly one of the best of the Classics line.
2. SDCC Nemesis Prime & Crystal Convoy. Same figure, but different takes. One of the best molds of all time keeps getting better.
3. Animated Prowl. I finally feel they got a kick ass Transformer crammed into a motorcycle right.

Re: best tf's of 2008

I'm sure Henkei Cyclonus will be up there for 09 but the Japanese edition of Movie Premium Prime was still my best buy of 08. Unfortunately with Animated and all 08 was probably the slowest year TF wise for me since I started seriously collecting.

Re: best tf's of 2008

My top 5 0f 2008:

1) Animated Shockwave
2) Universe Silverbolt
3) Sunstreaker/Sideswipe
4) Leader-Class Bulkhead
5) Movie Incinerator

Honorable mention: Springer vs Ratbat. Granted they are not new figures, the colors on both figures are well done and the mold chosen for Ratbat is just freaking brilliant.
