Classics Universe "in scale" to Binaltech?

In my neverending quest to pair up my current TFs with friend or foe, I've decided to find my Binaltech Laserwave a rightful enemy.

With Classics 2.0/Universe toys aplenty on the pegs these days I've narrowed down my choice to either Prowl or Silverstreak.

But are these two lines in scale to each other? Will Laserwave's RX-8 alt mode incorrectly dwarf the 350Z? Will the robot modes match?

If anyone owns Alternator/Binaltech Laserwave and Henkei/Universe Prowl or Silverstreak I'd love to hear your opinion!

They're not. Prowl is in the 1/32 to 1/34 range. All the alts are 1/24, so there will be a fairly noticeable size difference in both modes. A voyager would likely be a better match (especially in bot mode).

All deluxe sized Transformers, with a car mode, are in the same scale range usually, between each series. The upcoming Alternity line by Takara will be in the same scale as deluxes, but is suppose to keep the diecast.

BTs and ALTs are roughly voyager-sized in robot mode, so you're going to need a voyager-class Autobot that turns into a car. Unfortunately, the vast majority of TF cars end up in the deluxe class.

If you want someone in scale with Laserwave, I think you're limited to BTs and ALTs. You should be able to snag ALT Ricochet off eBay for fairly cheap these days.

Re: Classics Universe "in scale" to Binaltech?

I think I'm going to ditch my Binaltech Laserwave and collect on Classics/Universe-Classics 2.0/Henkei from now on.

Anyone have an Ultra Magnus/Skywarp set they want to get rid of?

i was just gonna say...

if you want to match Shockwave with someone from classics, get Magnus and get his City Commander Armor...that should be a better scale and a good DW comic "foe" thing going on

Re: Classics Universe "in scale" to Binaltech?

That'd be cool...but Classics Magnus seems harder to find/worth more because of the upcoming release of the Armor. And isn't the City Commander Armor a limited release thereby making it mucho $$$ ????
