Not all stores are having that clearance. Doesn't count.

One must go to the store that has that clearance... Easy peasy 50% off so it does count

Re: Price hike for 2020?

What sucks for me is the price hike is killing the hobby for newer/younger people too. My son wants me to get him some new transformers but $30 for a deluxe(soon to be $35?!) is nonsense! How can I justify spending that much on one small deluxe? I'll just end up giving him all my CW stuff as a big gift instead. Hasbro is going to drive this into the ground. Morons if you ask me...

That's a good point. If you're a kid with some birthday money or allowance or whatever, there are way more interesting options for your money. Besides things like spending on apps or video games. If you're a parent/grandparent buying toys for kids, it's just that much rougher.

That comment is stupid, and I'm pretty sure you know why.

Re: Price hike for 2020?

Just paid $45 for Studio Bumblebee Optimus Prime. I felt dirty afterwards, but at least it’s ridiculous Amazon price tag of $100 makes me feel less violated. Still, this hike actively kept me away from Walmart recently. The only thing that got me in the door was the Siege clearance. Beyond that, I’m sticking to TRU, EB and Amazon for now. Not sure what the next step will be if they follow through with their own hikes.

My boys have been getting MPs, far more worth while and have become “affordable “. Most have outlasted any SS, seige, or any other new release... I’ll bet if HasTak lays off on the ridiculous waste of packaging we could get he price down

Or at the very least not use a dozen of those stringy plastic devil’s handcuffs to strap every conceivable part of the toy to the plastic clamshell.

Just because your Walmarts don't have that clearance doesn't mean it's not a good clearance. The last time we had 50% or more was around the time Combiner Wars Leaders going for 20$ instead of $59.99. So it does count.

Hell, even as a (supposed) adult, it's far easier to justify an $80 new video game over TF's. That $80 doesn't cover 3 deluxes, and I'm far less likely to spend 10-300 hours being entertained by the TF's...

I do think Hasbro is looking at the 3P market, seeing how much other companies are successfully selling Hasbro's IP for, and growing jealous. They see how much we're willing to spend, why not milk the cash cow?
