Local travel help needed

Sooo, apparently options for getting to downtown Toronto from the new hotel without a car kind of suck... According Google we're looking at upwards of 8 hours of travel by mass transit, or approximately $75 in cab fare... each way (on top of the cab fare between the airport and the hotel). And no, renting a car is not an option.

So this is an appeal from a couple of out-of-towners to the collective wisdom of the forum: Are there any faster/cheaper ways to get downtown? Stormrave and I were planning on spending most of Thursday before the con in Toronto, but that's looking like less of an option at the moment. Any help is appreciated.

Looks like you can catch the Milton-Toronto GO bus just across the street or so from the Hotel. It'll cost you $14 round trip, plus a half hour of your time to get to downtown Toronto, according to google.

yeah, if you can get a go-bus you should be able to get right down to union station.

I don't know where you got your info from, but it does not take 8 hours to get from the Delta Medowvale to Toronto via public transit. At best it'll take you no longer then 2 hours by public transit, or about an hour by GO transit.

You can blame Google for the info, which is why I came here for advice from people actually familiar with the area.

The TTC (for obvious reasons) site and Google/GO Transit are both being uncooperative right now. I get no route available when using the above link or by entering the addresses.

Anyway, thanks for the advice, sounds much better.

Also note that the route is not available at all times, because it's dependent on the milton train/bus schedule, you may get different transit results depending on the day/time you specify.
