Re: Transformers Animated Episode 24 Official Discussion
I voted terrible. Swindle was the only thing good in this episode. I was bored almost the whole time. I hope this was the last appearance of these crappy human villians.

Re: Transformers Animated Episode 24 Official Discussion
The dialog in the episode was as good as it's been in a long while.
Bumblebee: "Why's he(Nanosec) look young again?"
Sari: "Wrinkle Cream?"
Professor Princess: "Naughty violent arcade games and violence is not nice!" as she's blowing the crap out of the arcade and then Bumblebee.
Angry Archer: "A veritable band of not so merry men" I always love all Archers lines.
Slo Mo: "I like a man who works fast"
Nanosec: "And I like a woman that takes it slow" Almost dirty for a kids show.
Nanosec: "The fast and the villianous... "
Megatron: "Oh, spare me the platitude's Swindle"
Greeter Bot: "Welcome to Sumdac Towers. Porter C. Powell is a booger head."
Now really the human villians have only been in about two of the last 10 to 15 episodes. I agree we don't need to see them all that much but I do find that they really freshen things up and add an incredible amount of humor to the show.

QFT!
How many times do you want to see the Autobots get the crap kicked out of by the uber powerful Decepticons? Or miraculously manage to stop a lone Decepticon threat with all the dark undertones and shades of BM style thematics? That too can get repetitive and the human villains offer us something the Autobots can deal with without turning into total repeat of the flop that was BM, at least where the kiddies are concerned.
If you pay attention to Animated you'll notice that there is some shades of BtAS in the writing and the way some things are portrayed. Or maybe I'm just blowing fumes and completely put too much credit into the Animated series. Still I find that every episode is enjoyable and fun to watch. This one is no exception.

Fred Willard is freakin' funny in "Waiting For Guffman"!!!
Though the epsiode was just OK...I understand they do have to mix up the Decepti-action every once in a while...

Also, love the VOK reference.

I totally agree, the voice acting was perfect for Swindle. I had to do a double take at the Vok comment.

I think we are in the minority for liking Slo Mo. The 1950's style of speech was awesome.

I LOL'ed at this one as well.
For the first time in recent memory, I am going to say I actually enjoy the humans in a TF show. I feel somewhat dirty now.

Re: Transformers Animated Episode 24 Official Discussion
Not a bad episode. It flashed back and forth with the animation budget a few times. Also I still can't stop picturing Phil and Lil from Rugrats when I hear Professor Princess.

Re: Transformers Animated Episode 24 Official Discussion
Casting Fred Willard was such an inspired decision. He's great as Swindle. However, I found this to be the only redeeming quality of this episode.
Once again, the human villains were as annoying as ever. It's not just because these characters have very little depth, or that they don't add anything toward the overall story. The reason these characters don't mesh well in this series is that they stylistically clash with this franchise. I wouldn't be at all surprised if these antagonists were resurrected designs that were rejected from the Teen Titans series. Human characters aside the writing was also fairly sloppy, witty dialogue notwithstanding.
I'm still not certain as to why the writers have this need to recycle themes. Teamwork was played up in the pilot movie, and was brought up again in the previous episode. It wasn't necessary to bring that theme to the forefront and it sacrificed BB's character development for a cheap plot device. It's almost as if the writers don't give their young demographic enough credit.
It's interesting that the last episode vilified mods and upgrades, but in this episode, Swindle was only defeated because BB was modified. I wonder if there will be any fallout.
I find it odd the Autobots would allow Fanzone to tow away Swindle at the end to be stripped down and auctioned off considering he's packing some serious armaments. I'm still not exactly sure what happened to the Allspark fragment. I guess it has to be inferred that it was recovered.

Re: Transformers Animated Episode 24 Official Discussion
Good - Swindle: voice, personality, Vok-talk
Good - Megatron: You'd sell your own motherboard to the highest bidder
Bad - angry archer, professor princess
Bad - autobots seemingly useless
Bad - too much of a weak human storyline
Bad - disappointing ending
Undecided - Slo Mo, Nanosec
Undecided - Sari is presumably a robot, EMP had no effect? Is she not a robot or is that an error?
