This...I also see a reboot. But it may not be as soon as we like, as it can take years to get the new team built and all the deals signed. How long did it take to get Bayverse going? Probably many years before the actual movie...

WRT to the Beast Wars, I would say yes if the general interest of the public is heading in that direction. For example, in 1984, Robots and space ships were the big thing, but by the late 80's it was TMNT and other type of mutant/fantasy franchises. Should 'beasts' be back in fashion in 3-4 years, the time to revive BW will certainly be at hand.

I wish they could make something like a Fast 'n Furious series, or automobiles with aftermarket parts/mods.

Re: What Comes After DoTM?

I'm more worried of what will happen when they finish re-creating the g1 characters. Will classics turn G2? Will they continue with making Animated characters classics/movie style? What?

Re: What Comes After DoTM?

Transformers is a franchise that constantly seeks reinvention (Beast Wars is the greatest example of this). While I am sure Hasbro/Takara will continue to throw the CHUG bones to us collectors, I do not think it will be the main focus of Hasbro.

The market moves a LOT faster than it did in the 80s. Five years then is the equivalent of 18 months now. Right now I am pretty bored with the TF line. I just sit around waiting for the new Generations figures to come out.

So expect new Transformers cartoon series over the next few years and toylines to follow. We may not see new movies for a very long time, if at all.

But I don't see Transformers going anywhere. It is a toy line that has the distinction of being one of the few toys lines that has been on toy shelves, in one way or another, for over 25 years.

Re: What Comes After DoTM?

Don't forget, with The Hub, Hasbro has stated that they want to develop their toy properties into multimedia IP's on the level of some of th more mainstream Scifi properties...this could lead in some very interesting directions in the future.

So, yeah. Don't let anyone tell you that Transformers is going to end any time soon...Hasbro knows it now has a juggernaut on its hands, & doesn't plan on letting go!

I would like them to revisit the beast era. There was so much more to be done there!

I'm not so keen on this one. Decent show, uninspiring toys. (IMO, obviously)

Re: What Comes After DoTM?

I predict Leader class Bonecrusher and Blackout!

They will probably do something stupid like pre-quels or some vs. caca.
