I saw prototypes of this third party item and as a person who had never purchased third party before, I was wondering is this a public available item and if so where would be a good place to buy him when he becomes available.

you wouldnt find it at like a TRU or walmart you might find it at collector stores but the prices would be jacked , your best bet would be too browse online stores , on the right side of the screen there is a couple stores worth looking at, there is also tf source bigh bad toy store and many others

Well I kinda figured he wouldn't be at retail. But if many online retailers should have him instock when he is finally available, guess I have many choices then.

I'm glad someone else spotted it. Although I'm not crazy about third party revoltechs, the Sunstreaker looks wonderful.

You can usually snag third party items from a slew of Online retailers that have some kind of focus on Transformers. The stock is limited, the quality isn't quite the same as Hasbro, but a lot of them are solid enough.

BBTS, Tfsource, Automaton, etc, are amongst the common retailers. All quite reliable.

No proto of it yet, just the renders. Only ones completed so far are shockwave soundwave and the coneheads and none are for sale yet.
