Which catalogues do you want on ShelfLife?

Hey guys,

I'm sure you guys have heard about ShelfLife by this point. If not, divert over here for a moment:

http://www.cybertron.ca/boards/showthread.php?t=36546

Quick Summary: We're trying to build best collection management and e-commerce platform ever made with the goal of making Ebay nothing but a bad memory.

A big part of the site is documenting every collectible in existence, work which is carried about by our curators (all about that over here: http://www.cybertron.ca/boards/showt...hlight=curator)

So simple question: Have a look at the site (www.shelflifex.com), and let us know which catalogues you want us to prioritize for you, the fans to ensure the site is useful to you.

Any and all functionality comments and suggestions are always welcome as well, though most of that action gets dealt with in our primary thread listed up top or via everyone@shelflifex.com.

We're in a big push to launch our e-commerce platform in late April but we'll make time for great ideas and we want to keep the site buzzing with frequent new catalogues launches so let us know if you'd care to help out as a curator and build our future playground!

Much love,

James Chillcott (FaustX)

Bakugan and other 8-10 year old toys in their first incarnations are lower on the priority list as very few older collectors will be looking for them but we're talking to SpinMaster about getting all of their catalogues in one huge data dump.

Chiefly we're looking for the lists from you guys that you need to personally finish logging your collections.

Re: Which catalogues do you want on ShelfLife?

Hmm... adult collectibles

Here's what I can think of in that department that actually had collectible products released

Hotwheels / Matchbox
Micro Machines
McFarlane Figures
Mego Figures
Masters of the Universe
Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future
Centurions
Visionaries
Stikfas / Xevoz (massive quantity of pieces each, technically model figures)
Mask
Ghostbusters (the Real Ghostbusters, although there were figures released for the other one)
Voltron
Macross / Mospeda / Robotech
Exoforce
Battletech / Mechwarrior
Robotix (were released more as building sets than figures from the show)
Bravestar
Popples (surprised this hasn't been revived yet)
Wuzzles
My Little Pony
Darkwing Duck (lots of interesting figures in this one)
Gargoyles (extensive line of great figures)
Heroclix
D&D Chainmail / Miniatures
Starwars Miniatures (should Attacktics be included in here or not?)
Warhammer 40K
WWF figures (larger and the little thumb wrestlers)
Nerf weapons

Actually, there's a huge selection and variety of tabletop games with their associated miniatures that are collectible. Though cataloging may be a bit difficult as some series bleed over into different franchises.

Hopefully that helps somewhat.

Re: Which catalogues do you want on ShelfLife?

I had offered to Nick a while back to curate a MASK catalogue. I've still got most of my MASK stuff from childhood, although like 95% of my collections, they are all currently in storage.

We'd take you up on that at this point if you aren't busy with another catalogue. Just let Nick know via email.

Re: Which catalogues do you want on ShelfLife?

The fact that there is no Macross in the catalogue is a major fail.
