What do you look for when buying a Transformer(s)?

from the title, what do you look for? sizes, price, earth or cybertronian, color, etc.

my favourite things are mostly deluxe, cybertronian or futuristic, multi-weapons, and the 80s movie new characters (arcee,springer,rodimus,etc) or animated

See, I'm not too picky about size. As long as the figure itself is good, I don't really care if he's taller then he should be in the show or whatever.

But for me...I always look at the robot mode designs first, or of it happens to be a character I like. Of course, the price helps influence me big time.

I look for characters I like, then I look for interesting alt or robot modes.

As for size, I typically don't go smaller than deluxe.

I look for a good transformation and at least one solid mode, it also helps if I like the character.

When buying a transformer I factor in some of the following
Solid alt mode.
Complex but fun transformation.
Nice articulation and posability.
Paint! That was never an issue for me until Energon and Cybertron.
Price.
