Re: Generations Leader Jetfire - Baltmatrix

Yep honestly I do like the figure and using this as part of my Autobot big guns in my classics collection. Scales well enough for me.

Do you think that using degreaser would also work on the gold chrome used on YOTH Optimus?
there was a youtube video for getting rid of the gold and leaving the chrome, dunno where it is though

Re: Generations Leader Jetfire - Baltmatrix

Ok got this tonight at Wallymart for 29.92 + HST as a gift to my 8 year old daughter. She only like Autobots and never heard of Jetfire before. Enter Jetfire...

The only way to explain how good this figure is, is how she reacted to it. I've never heard her use the word amazing so much. It was an instant win. The numerous comments about the red chrome and how you can combine the weapons together with the battle mask to make one big mega gun was one of her favorite discoveries. She was swooshing that thing around and fire that missile. So I'd say Hasbro did a great job. She even slept with it standing on her night stand.

For me, I have to admit, I did like it, a lot. I don't collect Generations figures but I have purchased them in the past for my daughter and this Jetfire has bumped Sandstorm to #3. #1 is Metroplex of course

My favorite aspects of Jetfire were the quality joints. Lots of articulation and lots of ratcheting audio porn. The figure is solid. The red chrome was stunning. Reminded me of Scoria's sword. The tranformation was not unnecessarily complicated. It was logical, no thanks to shitty instructions though. A quick YouTube search yielded much better visual steps on how to transform this guy.

My daughter loves it and I was impressed. Both alt and bot modes are visually appealing. Quality is what I would expect from the Generations line. No issues. Strong enough hinges and joints.

Next step, show my daughter the "fire in the sky" episode from season 1. She will be in heaven.

If you haven't gotten yours yet, get one. For $29.92 + HST, you can't go wrong.

29 dollars? Have I miss anything? Is it on sale at Walmart or something?

Yup the lady putting them out told me to get one today cause the price could literally change anytime. The price check didn't scan them. Had to ask a worker to scan with their gun. Confirmed $29.92. Get them while you can.

Re: Generations Leader Jetfire - Baltmatrix

Got mine the other day. Fantastic toy and the chrome is very pleasing to my visual receptors but I can't help but miss my Henkei Jetfire too. The false nosecone that becomes part of his backpack kinda bugs me. Like it's a cheat of some sorts, yaknowwhutImean? Classics/Henkei Jetfire's cockpit and nosecone ended up truly making part of his chest which I loved. I guess I like my Transformer's bits to go where they're supposed to. Though I must admit the false truck grill that makes up (both) MP Optimus' abs is acceptable to me for aesthetics-sake so I really should STFU and appreciate this guy.

http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radico...fin-mod-2.html

I just did this mod.

It confirms everything I suspected. Pascal can't tell his left ear from his right. Plastic's cheap.

If you do this mod, save the fins and use them to do the hand mod. it'll save you from creating a panel on the hand that will hold a peg.
