G1 Collection Count...

I was just cataloging my G1 collection last night, mostly to see what parts I still need to complete the figures, and I was actually suprised at how few G1 figures I have in my collection. Basicallly it broke down like this

- 15 G1 figures (all but 3 are complete)
- 3 G1 Reissue figures
- 3 G1 Japanese figures

Now I also have a bag of G1 figures from my childhood, but I have no interest in displaying them, I'm keeping them for sentimental reasons as they are mostly in rough shape.

I did my G1 "Most Wanted" list, and this included 24 figures but most of them aren't high on my priority list and some are pretty heavy hitters like Bludgeon, Scorponok and Thunderwing.

So just curious, what portion/percentage of your collection is G1? I was actually pretty suprised how low G1 was in mine.

Cheers!

Re: G1 Collection Count...

Very low percentage... I only have:

-reissue G1 Convoy (New Year version)
-reissue G1 Star Convoy
-reissue G1 God Ginrai
-reissue G1 Galvatron
-E-hobby G1 Orion Pax
-vintage G1 Megatron

I would eventually like to replace my vintage Megatron with a reissue one and maybe get the following:

-Encore Sky Lynx
-Encore Metroplex
-Encore Omega Supreme
-G1 Grandus
-G1 Sky Garry
-G1 Victory Leo
-G1 Star Saber
-G1 Overlord
-G1 Trypticon
-G1 Scorponok
-G1 Deathsaurus

Re: G1 Collection Count...

My collection, which, sure, is micro-tiny by any real standard, has a proportionally low amount of original figures in it. Sadly, none are complete either, but what's there is in, all-in-all, decent shape. Blaster [no gun], Ultra Magnus [missing some little stuff, and needs to be cleaned], Snapdragon [soooo close to being complete, but not... gah], Hunn-Grr. A few other little guys.

Re: G1 Collection Count...

I only have 218 Transformers in my collection but 159 of them are G1. I basically have the entire G1 collection from 1984 to 1987. I do not include the mail away omnibots, deluxe insecticons or jump starters as none of them were in the series or movie. I am only missing one and he is major expensive...Fortress Maximus.

I can beat that with my ultra low G1 collection

encore Optimus Prime (complete)
Original Grimlock (...just the figure)
Reissue Hot Rod (...just the figure)

that is all....

Re: G1 Collection Count...

I only collect G1 and classics, so I suppose quite a bit of my collection is G1.

Re: G1 Collection Count...

I'm not much of a G1 person, toy-wise.

Notable vintage stuff from my childhood, among others:
- Complete Abominus
- fully functional Sky Lynx (needs Reprolabels, though)
- complete Snapdragon
- 2 out of 6 parts to Monstructor (Icepick and Birdbrain)

Other G1 and G1-era toys that I bought in recent years:
- Powermaster Prime
- God Ginrai
- Nucleon Quest Superconvoy (Black Powermaster Prime)
- Jafcon Convoy (Black G1 Prime)
- Encore Megatron
- New Year's Convoy
- eHobby Black Hot Rod
- eHobby Black Starscream
- eHobby Clear Hot Rod
- eHobby Magnificus (Black Perceptor)
- TFC-18 Soundblaster

I think that's it.

Re: G1 Collection Count...

My G1 collection is small and in the process of shrinking. I just find the modern toys that much better representations of the characters and WAY more fun to play with.

Re: G1 Collection Count...

I have the complete series of G1 figures released in North America (minus some pretenders and micromasters). Also 80 - 90% of them are complete and the others are maybe missing 1 or 2 weapons at most.
