Quantron - Specifically Sonic Drill

Who else got this set?

I just got mine last night and really really enjoy it.

4/5 figures are fun to transform to vehicle, bot and combined mode.
Found the transformations interesting, intuitive and each mode just looks cool.

The 5th figure, Sonic Drill, has me befuddled.
Looks amazing in bot mode, the attention to detail, face sculpt etc. You can tell the designer really loved this one.
Vehicle mode, same, looks amazing!

Combined mode - it fits with, aesthetically.

Now for the befuddled part - transforming him! I have some fiddly and tough to transform figures (Perfect Effect Aranea and RC) but this guy takes the cake.

At some points I was worried I was going to break pieces because they're held on by very thin pieces of plastic, had some parts flex on me and thankfully no stress marks or cracks.

The foot connection in combined mode is....well its finger destroying. The tolerances are super tight and it doesn't make for a good connection either - found fixes on page 525 of the Quantron thread on TFW but man...for the engineering that went into this I am at a loss as to why this guy was sooo complex and minor items were completely overlooked.

I don't regret buying him but because of Sonic Drill I doubt I will be taking him out of combined mode that often - just feels way too risky.
