The problem with carbots is that they're officially licensed products which means Hasbro need permission to distribute a product that has the likeness of the actual vehicle and the manufacturer's symbol. This can be difficult and/or expensive to acquire but is necessary before they can release the figure. If they can get Porsche to give permission, then they'll most likely release Jazz since he's one of the more popular characters.

But Hasbro didn't seem having a difficulty getting Lamborghini's and VW's permission. Volkswagon's are made by Porsche, so if they go permission for VW, it shouldn't be difficult to have Porsche.

And if they get the permission to release the figure, they will. But first the figure has to come out in Japan from Takara, which it hasn't. Once it does, and if the licensing is good, then it should come out on TRU shelves a few months later or maybe years later. There's no licensing issue with Ultra Magnus but we've yet to see a North American release. Unfortunately with North American releases, we can't really predict which figures are coming out when and in what order.

Could you imagine how expensive an Ultra Magnus hasbro release would be in canada? It would probably be 399.99 going by the bumble release.

Regardless if he is eventually released by Hasbro, it will be cheaper to buy Jazz from Takara. Plus, you won't have to wait 2-3 years to get it from TRU.

Looking forward to the official Hoist and Jazz announcements if true. These will be sure buys.

I'll start by saying that Volkswagen is the parent company, they own Porsche, not the other way around. Porsches are made by Volkswagen and so are Audi, Lamborghini and a bunch of others.

If you want permission to use songs by 2 separate singers, you have to go to both of their individual record labels, get agreements from both and pay them both separately. You don't just go to Time/Warner that owns both labels and ask them once, that's not how it works. Volkswagen also owns Lamborghini and they were able to acquire those rights for Lambor but it means nothing when needing to acquire rights from the parent company for Jazz. You're dealing with a separate group of people to approve it.

Hasbro could easily release MP Skywarp (in the MP-11 mold) and all the Coneheads at a decent price -- they're repaints or remolds of figures we've already gotten here, and there's no licensing issue to negotiate.

They could also do more repaints of the MP Seeker mold like Red Wing and could repaint Thrust into Nacelle.

Re: The Masterpiece Appreciation and Speculation Thread

They could but hasbro has been slacking and progressively shoving their heads farther and farther up their asses when it comes to pricing so even if they do bring stuff out I see them stopping soon because of their terrible pricing which makes things not sell, which makes them think people don't want them.... vicious cycle I see happening soon.

They may be under the same umbrella, but they are still different brands. There are still lots of legal hoops to jump through.
