Ive got to go with predaking on this. I like the character(s), and the toy just looks more to me like it could wreck up the place if it wanted to, compared to the other combiners.
But there are a lot of combining robots other than transformers. Like power rangers, voltron, machine robo, gaogaigar (and the other "brave" robots), etc. etc...
There are some really cool combiners out there.

Uhg This is a hard one they are all so cool in the series... I guess it depends on what we are talking about here be it tv series or the toys them selfs?..
I suppose either way my vote would have to be for the protectobots & technobots

Dak, I just got Magmatron he is pretty sick so I'll go or him as my BW vote and Superion as my autobot G1 and Predaking for decepticon G1
edit: how could I not remember the biggest badest combiner, PREDAKING!

the guy is more powerful then predaking or even piranacon for that matter.
only single con more powerful then him is that hybrid con devilz/ black zarak/ devilzarak guy from masterforce.

You know, I've never had any merger TFs, but I'd have to say Devastator... he just looks so badass !
Being of G1 roots, I've never seen the purpose of Predaking and that kind of TF (beast wars and all).

So who is the strongest of all the combiners? Devastator was pretty much king of the hill until the other combiners came along, the cartoon series suggest that he is among the weaker of the combiners because he simply gets walloped by the other combiners and isn't used as frequently as in Season 1 and in early Season 2.

If we are taking a combiner dual. Hrmmm Victory Saber I guess..... then again I liked the combination of Superlink Rodimus Convoy with Super Hot Shot, heck, they beat Grand Convoy.
If it's all out combiner teams..... Road Ceasar of Transformers Victory..... somewhat Defensor, but that's biased cause he was my first G1 giftset.
