I feel like I may be one of the rare ones, but I kinda want the Platinum line to die.

Re: Platinum Edition Optimus Prime VS Megatron set revealed
I would love to be a fly on the wall in the meeting where hasbro decides what to release. For every good idea or figure that people want there seems to be an equally bizarre idea that gets released. "let's reissue G1 Tripticon! Okay but then let's reissue G1 Astrotrain in Orange!" Or "Hey lets do a cool set of the AOE dinobots with G1 colors and heads! Okay but we need to reissue the classics hot rod mold again if we do that!"

Re: Platinum Edition Optimus Prime VS Megatron set revealed
I think what you meant was "Lets release Energon Omega with a new claw arm and G1 Trypticon but lets NOT make the release easy for Canadians to obtain".
I get that they want to get the most out of molds to save money, hence the repaint/combiner wars figs are nothing but repaint/retools, but with the Platinum line being too expensive and the paint or lack of paint (clear tinted plastic) it does not exactly grab collectors eyes.
If they are gonna go out to lunch on pricing these figures, they should at least have exceptional paint application along the Takara line or better.

Re: Platinum Edition Optimus Prime VS Megatron set revealed
I'd rather pay the crazy prices on ebay for a good looking prime then pay like $250 for a mold I already own in better colors and a Prime that looks terrible in vehicle mode.

Please just kill this line, 90% is something I don't need or I can't afford.

Re: Platinum Edition Optimus Prime VS Megatron set revealed
I get the impression that the Platinum line is run by a group of ADHD kittens; distracted by strings, shiny lights and other wise terrible at the job but just too damn adorable to get fired. It's the only logical reasoning at this point. Also their swatting the keyboards randomly with their paws explains a lot of the paint deco choices.
