Is Apollyon worth owning?
I've been wary of third party figures for a while. My experience with them have been dissapointing with some poor QC, or I buy one and Hasbro releases an official fig of the character. This is all on top of the relatively expensive prices.
That being said, whith rumors of a 2.0 MP Megatron not being in the works, and with Apollyon looking to be an almost perfect replacement, do the people who own him feel he's worth it? Should I jump in now to avoid dissapointment?

Re: Is Apollyon worth owning?
There's a duality to owning Apollyon, IMO.
The kid in me is bummed he's so nightmarish to transform into a gun.
The collector in me is thrilled he looks so good posed beside my Hasbro MP OP, Energon flail in hand, battling his axe-armed enemy like they're atop Sherman Dam.
Half empty, half full.
Leagues better looking than Takara MP-05...

Re: Is Apollyon worth owning?
I decided not to buy it based on how poor it is as a toy. Sure it looks good but it isn't a statue, if you want something that looks good then buy a statue. I transform my figures regularly and the horror stories I've heard about this one have kept me away from it.

Re: Is Apollyon worth owning?
I would say if you have an MP 10 then you need to have it as an offset IMO

Re: Is Apollyon worth owning?
Mine is starting to loosen up after a few transformations. It's a fun as hell toy (pew pew) and it looks great but there it's not without it's issues. For example the gun mode stock and silencer don't hold on well. Can't tell you how many times I've had to pick the pieces off the ground. Also, in robot mode, mine would hold up the fusion cannon no problem before. Now it flops. I'll be switching that ball joint with the included part.
I'd say it's worth $150 CND tops (version 2). Of course, YMMV.

Re: Is Apollyon worth owning?
I have him and I agree, the transformation is pretty "intense" at times but it all works in the end. Just pay attention to what you are doing and don't rough house with it and you'll be fine. He is an AWESOME figure in your MP line up!

Well it depends how long you are willing to wait for a official megatron masterpiece, and if you need to fill your masterpiece gap which there is no leader. I don't see one which will be out for a period of time. I couldn't see my own collection without him.
I wouldnt say he is poor QC just average. I did have to fix shoulders and head replaced due to scratches easy. I've never transformed him since I always want them in robot mode.
