Re: A cool Value Village find ! ^_^

I got a Protoform Optimus(no gun) today, along with an almost complete set of Transformers Chess peices and both Ironhide and Megatron in their Alt modes from the Robot Heroes line.

Re: A cool Value Village find ! ^_^

On Saturday, the VV on Vic Park & Finch had a Classic Astrotrain missing 2 arms and gun, a TFA Megatron missing 1 leg and gun, TFA Jetstorm with a busted leg, and Movie Scorponok (complete). Nothing I really wanted.

Re: A cool Value Village find ! ^_^

I had to dig to find this thread! I found a cuple of cool G1 figures at my local VV earlier this week. I found Ultra Magnus, cab onlly, but with hands, Perceptor-missing a knob and the microscope and guns, Kickback, Beachcomber and a Gobot Pathfinder(a gray spaceship) all in the "fill a bag for $2.99!!!

Re: A cool Value Village find ! ^_^

Am I the only one who feels uncomfortable with this thread? I thought Value Village was for people with low income, not avid collectors... I'd rather see those toys in the hands of children in need... no?

Re: A cool Value Village find ! ^_^

You'd be suprised about the folks that shop at Value Village. I know a few people that make a VERY good living that shop at Value Village for clothing and housewares.

It's simply a second hand store, it has nothing to do with high or low incomes.

Plus, i've seen plenty of collectors looking for toys at VV. You have to remember that a kid is probably going to want a Pokemon or Batman figure rather than a 20 year old robot toy with missing pieces.

Cheers!

Re: A cool Value Village find ! ^_^

well pascal does make a good point. but I kinda consider it like a retiurement for these toys; they got some good playtime out of them and now they're part of a collection.

XD but back on topic, the VV in newmarket's dry. XD most of the toy bags are at the front and you'd be lucky if you found anything TF related. XD I have better luck at our local thrift store
