Re: GameStop.ca (formerly EB Games) Transformers Sightings and discussion
I wonder if Hasbro occasionally tries to be speculative to see what they can get away with. Crossover Dracula for example.

Re: GameStop.ca (formerly EB Games) Transformers Sightings and discussion
I wonder if the production run for these Pulse exclusives is smaller, and Hasbro’s charging more for them. I remember agent ravage being an expensive exclusive. The hero is born pack and the one with Ariel weren’t so bad, though.
Bought hot shot last week, 57$ with the Onyx card still stung, but the figure looks nice, with two accurate big guns that are definitely not reused from another figure or set. The minicon is also very well done, lightyears ahead of the micromasters from the WFC line.

Still over $66 after taxes... That's still outrageous.

Fan boys shouting that Hasbro had to pay for the license which is why it was so expensive when Dracula has been in the public domain for years... They were testing waters.

You're so right. Don't think he moved well at that pricepoint; Frankenbot is much more reasonably priced.

Dracula is public domain but they specificaly licensed Universal Studios Dracula R C TM OC Don't Steal.
Dracula was more reasonably priced in the US. It was only in Canada where it was $15 more expensive for no reason.

And what benefit did having Universal Monsters over just Dracula have? Why was this not applied to Frankenstein? Do you really think a Universal license is that expensive after their movie universe flopped into cancelation? Still not seeing the justification for the price other than greed...

You'd have to ask whoever made the decision at Hasbro.
Most likely they were approached by Universal as some kind of cross branding deal. Definitely not worth it.
