For couple of*months, Transformers Fans at TFW2005 speculated the identity of a*green Westerstar with markings indicating it had been hunting Autobots and Humans. It was seen chasing Bumblebee and Co. during the Arizona Principal Photography of the latest movie; Transformers: The Last Knight. Today, director Michael Bay has revealed the name as Onslaught (the Decepticon Combaticon?). “Autobots beware: Onslaught is on the move.” -Official Transformers Facebook Page-

Sigh. Of all the countless gripes that the community often has with the movies, one that I agree with is giving established characters alt modes and movie roles that are totally disconnected from the rest of the franchise.

Onslaught is a hardcore military vehicle and member of a 5-bot combiner team.

He is NOT a big green tow truck.

HOWEVER - if he turns out to be a total badass with a drool-inducing bot mode, I will be happy to eat a large serving of crow.

That's interesting. I just read the other day that no combaticons will be in the movie. If Onslaught is a tow truck then I guess they are technically right.

I think we're past the point where anyone should expect Bayverse characters to resemble their G1 namesakes.

It's Western Startruck again....
So far Optimus Prime, Galvatron were all Western Star trucks.
Soon in Tranformers 5 we will see Ultar Megaus also become a Western Star truck...
then in Tranformers 6 Arcee will become a Western Star truck

All jokes aside, I'm sure it has to do with sponsorship and money.

also easier to write in/ film than a big ass double turret trailer toting truck.

Maybe his tow hooks turn into double turrets via the magic of CGI. how knows.............

and then maybe not and he's just a tow truck
