Putting the figures in a ziplock bag placed in a box does the jobs

I haven't gone as far as individual boxes, but I now store each figure in its own ziploc. Prevents damage, and keeps accessories close too. Better than the random pile of missiles, guns, feet...

I also try to store them in the mode that compresses better. Many are better in vehicle mode, not all.

Then they all go in the rubbermaid.

I do something similar. Exception is that I usually keep the accessories together in a single bag (sometimes the gun from one figure looks better with another). Instructions get their own box and the figures not on the shelf are stored in bins based on size class and line. One bin for Cyberverse, one for Scouts (all lines), one for Movie Deluxes and the bigger voyager, ultra and mega class stuff gets placed in a large Rubbermaid. Then any extra figs that can't fit in the smaller boxes go on top.

Not very organized at the moment, but now that I've been laid off, I've likely got a couple of weeks to sort this stuff before I finally get hired on to a new job (hoping it's related to the $15,000 college diploma I just got, but I'm willing to take anything that comes up.)

Re: Best way to store Transformers

I've got four 67L rubbermaid clever store containers and four 89L rubbermaid clever store containers all stacked in my closet. Easy to move and get to specific figures. The loose figures just go in one of the bins. I also have two 38.8L rubbermaid clever store containers that slide under the bed.

My wife loves them because they hide well. So I can have a huge collection without them taking over a room and I just rotate the figures out once in a while.

Got them when Zellers had a buy one get one free sale on all rubbermaid containers and found that the prices were better for each when I just went to Home Depot.

Yeah bought a bunch of huge containers from Superstore for cheap. They're much better than boxes.

Lay a row of toys flat in the container, then place an old towel or item of clothing over the layer. Repeat until the bin is full. Plastic bags will keep dust off and parts together if possible. Hard to get Uniform or Omega Sentinal in a baggie. . I stored bins and bins this way for seven years without issue.
