Re: What do you all think of TFC Prometheus

I'm waiting for the last limb to put together and open. Got the first three cheaper so it's a win for me.
Just looking at the boxes the figures look good, there is also a thigh mod to make him taller, looks better that way in the pics

Re: What do you all think of TFC Prometheus

I personally don't like the look of him sadly because he was always my favorite combiner along with superior but i find the combined mode really lacking. Hes a big box. I do own ttc here and superion.

Im like downshift i would get him if he was stupid cheap otherwise nope.

Re: What do you all think of TFC Prometheus

I'll be jumping in with Hasbro for Defensor.
I want to see Guardia.

I have Giant and love him, but I have the yellow version (G2 rah rah!) so I'll be getting the Hasbro Devastator when that comes out.

I have TFC Uranos. Not impressed really, even with Wings of Uranos on top. That's it for me for TFC.

TFC: Toys For Chumps imo.

Re: What do you all think of TFC Prometheus

From what I hear, plastic quality is generally good for TFC products. You won't have to worry about the figure crumbling to dust ten seconds after you open it.

As for looks. I find that I don't really like the TFC aesthetic, especially the head sculpts. Overall they never invoke the spirit characters they're based on. They look similar. They're colored similar, but there's always something off.

As someone who loves the Arielbots, I couldn't bring myself to buy their Uranos, even though the Arielbots are my favorite combiner team. I watched dozens of videos trying to convince myself, but the figure never got any better looking, and their flaws became more significant in my eyes.

Compare that to MMCs Predacons, who I have no emotional attachment. The more videos I watched, the better the figures looked, until I broke down and bought Feral Rex.

Looking at the pics of Prometheus, he looks fat and squat, and from what I can glean from the video reviews I've watched, it doesn't appear that TFC is getting any better at their designs. To me, it seems like their designs are getting worse.

I mean look at the way that helicopter cockpit sits and look at the sides of First Aid in combined mode. The cockpit looks weird and the sides of First Aid look a bit naked, like someone ripped off some panels exposing the red underneath.

Yes, I'm nitpicking. But to me none of the positives make up for the niggling things that aren't perfect with the figure.

the ankles NEED more stability.
the hips need tighter ratchets.

other than that, i think he's pretty damn sweet.

Re: What do you all think of TFC Prometheus

Thanks for all the input guys. I guess my final decision is to wait and compare with Guardia before dipping into it.

I think I won't buy it, it looks pretty bad.
I own TFC Ares, that one looks much better.

Re: What do you all think of TFC Prometheus

I have it completed and on display. I am satisfied with it. Pretty good joints and seems to be stable.

What is the "hip mod" that was mentioned?
