Re: Walmart.ca Transformers Sightings and discussion

I think some small retailers buy their stock from other stores... They try to note the figures in short supply and/or high demand and will go to Walmart, Toys R Us (or others) to buy out the stock and re-sell it at whatever markup they figure they can get. They also may be the type to buy up figures when on sale so they can profit from the price difference. Being a retailer, the GST/HST cost is negligible as they can claim it back.

More legitimate retailers, like A3U, likely get their stock properly from the designated distributors, so their pricing is closer to MSRP.

Capitalisim seems broken too when people preordering arent getting their toys either.

Did you call them about it before hand or did you just get a cancellation like that out of the blue?

I was wondering about this the other day. Wave 2 deluxes were released albeit in small numbers. Astro Shuttle guy is fairly easy to find. But Hot Rod has not been available on Pulse or WalMart or anywhere!

Which sucks cos I'm a sucker and will pay full price for it

I see, thanks for confirming my doubt!

Like RNSrobot just wrote, me too I want it and will pay full price for it even if I already have the SS version.

Hope it'll come out one day in Canada.

This would be really poor business.

By the time you paid someone to do it, covered the cost of the vehicle, insurance and gas, it wouldn't make much sense.

I do think there are some retailers who will order in volume when clearouts happen and they can purchase something in bulk for less or close to what they'd pay wholesale.

also, if it made sense (i.e. money) of course A3U would do it.

They are no different than any other small retailer doing everything they can to stay afloat.
