I am not a fan of anime and I thought let's see what the hype is about and the new cartoon turned out to be good..the old is still better due to it's originality but this one does a good job of bringing back the series..

The animation is top notch..

I watched the first few eps and it was good, some mature themes going on here

If I'm not mistaken Lion-o's father sounds a lot like the original Lion-o from G1 TC?

You are correct sir!

I think it's pretty cool that they got the actor of the orginal Lion-O to do the voice of Lion-O's Dad.

Plus Eric Matthew's is Lion-O!
