Re: Value Village: what are your Transformers findings?

Man I never find anything cool like that at VV. All I see is crappy bath toys, naked Bratz dolls and baby toys.

I can think of a few reasons behind that. When my nephew was younger he was the kind of kid that's frame of mind was "It will transform this way cuz i want it to" and the figure breaks.Parents not knowing the toyline see a pile of stuff the kid has outgrown/stopped playing with and donate it.Another reason is you buy a fig for a custom take part you need and donate the rest. The last reason i can think of is something i'm heavily leaning towards. You have a bunch of busted g1 figures.Being that it's G1 you don't want to throw it out in the garbage you'ld rather see someone use what they can out of it but you're sick of holding unto this pile of stuff so you donate it in hopes someone out there who obviously doesn't use the boards here will find it and put it to good use.

If you're looking, I find greater success on Wednesdays and Thursdays - probably due to less overall traffic through the sotres.

Re: Value Village: what are your Transformers findings?

Ive found some good stuff at vv. Bh ut usually the parts for a single complete bot end up in seperate bags along with othe crap i dont want. Once even saw a bw optimal optimus on the large shelf with no wings or shields or gun and found gun in one bag and the rest in another. Total cost would have been 12 bucks combined. Still not a bad deal. The only crappy part is the remaining junk goes right back to donation and vv makes even more money.
(Sometimes its easier to subtlety open a bag and take the extra parts and stuffbthem in the right bag- not thata anybody heres ever done or thought of that...)

Found a TM Tarantulas in nice condition yesterday - missing the front wheel gun, but with a head, two arms, and all 8 legs.

I found a fairly new Rhinox and an absolutely destroyed CHUG Jetfire the other day. Left them both there.

A local guy found a Scorponok body last fall here in Edmonton at a VV, too. You're in for an adventure if you want to finish him. Congratulations on scoring him!

Awesome, I found one about a year or so ago in Moncton NB. Missing a lot of pieces but not all. Was more than worth the $4.99 and he's in nice shape too.
