Megatron with a tank alt mode

Why can't Hasbro reboot the G1 line and make the same figures only better with 31 years of technology on their side. I understand that they are doing that with Masterpiece, but they are a high end product that not many people can afford.
The Classics/Generations lines have some good figures, (RTS Jazz) but also have some major flops (Ironhide/Rathet). I think that they could do very well if they produce better G1 releases that are IN SCALE with eachother.

Classics Voyager Optimus- undecided?(too short)
You might want to try the new Combiner Wars Prime? I dunno how he scales with the rest of the guys, though.

G1 Soundwave- stand-in(no tape deck versions)
Music Label Soundwave is probably your best bet, since he still transforms into a (fake) tape deck. No real minions on this version, though.

Classics Bumblebee- stand-in(too big)
Classics Cliffjumper- stand-in(too big)
Would the Classics 2.0 Legends Bumblebee be too small? I'd recommend that one if the Classics one is too big.
Unfortunately, the red Cliffy recolor was only available in Japan as part of the Minibots Attack Team set (with Beachcomber and Brawn).

Re: Classics Display: stand-ins & replacements

Music label Soundwave's has been in my shelf for as long I can remember.

I'm one of the few who doesn't mind Ironhide and Ratchet after I did the height mod.

I'm on the same boat with Prime and Megs.

I passed on Hegemon, 3P Megs, due to his clear plastic elbows and have completely turned away from 3P.

Happy with classics legends BB and might just end up painting my other copy into CJ.

The new classics scout minibots stand pretty well with legends BB. BB to me is the smallest one anyway.

I have two of those CJ MOSC. If I can find a better, more in scale alternative I will put them on the trading post.
By ''in scale'' I mean as close as possible to the scale we see in the original G1 cartoon.

Re: Classics Display: stand-ins & replacements

I had to try this anyway.

Here's Tracks and Jazz. By far the most beautiful classics to date.

I didn't know how small the aerialbots were. Wow. So tiny.

The Cosmos is a very nice scale but the BB is too small for me

Check out some KOs.
