Re: The Masterpiece Appreciation and Speculation Thread

Question for all since this is pretty much the only thread I can see Quakewave pics in. Trying to decide if I should leave him with the transparent hand/laser or the opaque hand/laser. Both laser attachments have the light but I'm not going to be using the hose spinning forearm piece. Thoughts?

I never bothered with the replacement kit on mine since the transparent hands with working miniature joints and fingers are too much of an engineering marvel to mess with.

The hose on top does bother me a bit, but not enough to seek out a kit just for the underslung hose piece.

So I say keep or swap the hands but sell me the hose piece .

I thought the modified hose assembly part requires the light feature to be disabled?

Personally I'd go opaque.

It does but if I only remove the laser and keep the original forearm I can insert the opaque laser with light but I was told to be very careful when trying to switch them, most likely to not break the wiring I would assume.

I've heard of people modding the alternate forearm. Not sure if this helps but give it a read

Thanks. I just managed to switch out the laser into the original forearm. The hose position didn't bother me that much. At least now he has both opaque and the light still works. Not as bright to be expected from the side but still lights up well. Having swapped them I think he looks much better with the opaque

I love 200 dollar figures that require fix kits.

Can you imagine if hasbro released a 200 dollar figure that had a massive issue?

I would agree with you but IMHO I don't think of this as a fix kit as opposed to an optional kit. I don't see anything wrong with the original figure it's just a matter of being able to change things on it. I guess it's a matter of preference of look, like adding reprolabels to an MP. In the case of Scoria, I agree whole heatedly to fix loose arms and jaw

Looking good wervenom. Opaque is the way to go IMO. I'll hold out for a reissue in dark purple

In the mean time I got lots coming soon to keep my plastic fix going.
