In all likelyhood its probably true. Same thing happened with BB, Wheely and Magnus. The xtransbots megs looks great, but, as always, I'd prefer an official MP.

Good news if true. Was a little iffy on the 3rd party offering given reviews of their previous figures have been hit or miss.
Atleast it could mean we buyers have a choice on which one to get and that's always good.

Just the suggestion of MP25 Megatron gives me a warm happy feeling. Mirage is icing on the cake. Takara likes to usurp the imitators. As noted below, Bumblebee and Magnus. Also, remember Acoustic Wave? And, of course it will be better, it's Takara!

The way it is now, I might still get the X-Transbots Megs, since it'S about to get released, and is a excellent representation of G1 Megatron.
Here, we just have a rumor, that might most certainly ne true, but no image or anything yet.
If MP-25 really ends up being an official Megatron, great, but I need something before cancelling any pre-order yet. I might get the Takara one if it's great too in the end :P

Saw same rumour on FB yesterday and it was apparently BS. Some one just slapped "MP-25 Megatron" on some completely random Japanese text.

That's cracking news if true, but do 3P offerings really motivate HasTak that much? Doubtful, since MPs really just cater to a niche market within a brand that is much more viable through other offerings (i.e., movie-tie-ins, wide-release toys, merchanidising).
I'll play Devil's Advocate and say 3P offerings that were "killed" by official releases were just victims of bad timing.
