Prime preview

Hey everyone. Just noticed there was an art forum here on Cybertron.ca. So I want to share some preview pictures of my Optimus model based off the classics toy. Before the pictures, I just want to let you all know this is my own version of the classics design. 80% of the modelling was done before the toy hit retail, in 2006. This model stayed unfinished for a year. I used Don's leaked concept drawings, and unpainted testshot pictures to do most of the modeling. All the extra details are by me. I'll post the full set of final renders when their done, which should be a week or two. I'm in the process of modeling a toy accurate version of Classics Optimus, as part of a commission job. Anyways, enjoy these in the mean time.

And a very rough transformation test made several weeks ago.

Re: Prime preview

there seems to be a huge rendering differance between the truck in the yard, and the one with the plain background. is there just a lighting difference or is there something more done to it?

Re: Prime preview

Thanks for the replies everyone. I've been doing 3d modeling as a hobby, but I'm trying to go pro. I'm currently working on a commission job. Involves a certain "City Commander".

Dak> The two different truck pictures are do to lighting, and materials used for the trucks color. The one with the plain background was an older render. I redid the colors on Prime in the render with the yard. It was just a test render, but I wanted to share it here.

Heres a link to a folder with a bunch of WIP renders of Prime since I started it back in June 2006.

Also, some renders of my Megatron model. Pretty much done, I just need to fix his transformation and slap on a good paint job.

Re: Prime preview

Certain "City Commander" ? This wouldn't happen to be the custom Classics Ultra Magnus trailer being produced by the same crew who made the Cliffjumper upgrade kit, would it?
