Re: Giant $15,000 Transformer Lot
The only people who really buy lots these days are smaller businesses looking to resell and they want 30-50% margins.
I recently sold all my funko pops for 50% value to a store and felt that was a good deal.

Re: Giant $15,000 Transformer Lot
Not even close to $15k there especially if purchased as a lot. Too many incomplete bots without paperwork or boxes.
It's a hard gamble even for a store.....which if you look under the sellers other ads on Facebook Marketplace, you'll take note that he actually has a small hobby shop that he operates.
Thus making it seem a bit more sus than anything.

If a loose/complete G1 Ultra Magnus can easily go for $100+, it all adds up very quickly, even without paperwork and boxes. Separate vintage accessories can also go for a pretty penny.

Re: Giant $15,000 Transformer Lot
They say in the listing that they are unaware of current pricing so this is def a high-ball offer. I understand the "finder's fee" some people like to ask for a large collection like this but that's a bit much.

Re: Giant $15,000 Transformer Lot
Looks like it's primarily a games shop and they're trying to get rid of their action figure stock. They also have a listings for a bunch of in box Beast Wars figures and Star Wars stuff both listed at $123,456.

Re: Giant $15,000 Transformer Lot
I think technically there could be $15k there, but in a practical sense, probably not. What I mean is all those incomplete bots when sold could theoretically add up to that total, but what's the market on stuff like that? Most want complete. So you may be sitting on $15k in "value" for a very long time. The true value of that collection lies in the boxed and complete stuff.
IMHO, it's like if you take two collections worth $10k. Collection-A has 1000 pieces worth $10 each. Collection B has 10 pieces worth $1000 each. Technically, they're both worth $10k, but practically, Collection B is the collection with the true top dollar value.

Re: Giant $15,000 Transformer Lot
So I did go ahead and purchase this lot. Gave him $12,000.
I spent the last few days inventorying everything, and got a total of 597 figures at a total value of $22,660 according to average ebay sold listings (I kept em all on the lower end as well, for example, two latest G1 Optimus Primes complete sold for $281 and $370, I priced mine at $250) Some of the boxed and sealed stuff was hard to price, so I way low balled those on my inventory.
Not bad! I paid $20.13 per figure.
Guess Ima just sell it all cuz I don't really want any of them, I already have my nice little collection put away of ones I had when I was a kid.
