All these photos I took with my panoramic camera. I love it because it's this old soviet era camera that makes photos look older than they actually are. Some of these photos had absolutely no photoshopping done, and others had some done to give the photos some more clarity and depth of colour. I posted some of these photos on cybertron before, so forgive me if people have already seen them.
I love taking photos of my city. Vancouver, to me, is the best place to live in the world. I've traveled to many different parts of the world, but Vancouver is still the best. Every day I wake up happy, knowing how fortunate I am to have what I have, and live where I live, and these photos reflect the pride I have for this city.
From Stanley Park:
From the Burrard Street Bridge: This one was heavily photoshopped because half the photo came out overexposed due to the sun glare into the lens. I loved this photo so much that I spent a couple hours trying to fix it. I'm glad I was able to salvage it. Looks pretty decent.
Under the Burrard Street Bridge: I had to climb onto some scaffolding and shoot through some wires. My girlfriend was propping me up from behind all the while yelling, "You're an idiot. You're going to fall you fucking idiot!" But I had to get the picture. Yeah, I'm hardcore like that.
Granville Bridge:
From False Creek: This was right after a storm. The city looked so calm.
Coal Harbour: If you take a look, about an inch or so from the left, there is a bit of blur. This is the drawback of this camera. Sometimes you get this odd vertical line down the photo. It happens every four or five pictures. Nothing I can do about it, but sometimes it really can mess up a photo.
The next pictures are from a two week road trip I took through the United States. I met my current girlfriend just weeks after returning.
Hoover dam: No Transformers
From Death Valley. My friend and I nearly died of heat exhaustion when we camped there. We wondered why no one else was camping, and we found out quickly when we were seeing things that night from the intense heat. All we had to drink was boiling hot Gatorade. I'll never forget it. The best part was no one else was there. I think we came across two or three cars the whole time.
This one my buddy took of me walking out onto the Salt Flats near Salt Lake City. If I were a musician, this would totally be my album cover. heh.
