I was considering getting one of the 3rd party Megatrons, but couldn't pull the trigger on any of 'em (pun intended), non of them captured the true look of the character. One of each would have the proper portion of Megatron but the rest would closely resemble or not at all. But Takara's looks the best in my honest opinion, if this turns out to be ligit.

That said, the DX9 figure's shin are odd looking.
The maketoys despotron has a bit of an edge having a bit more height in the torso, and the legs look like they form a gun handle.
Apollyion looks off in terms of proportions.
Takara/hasbro get points for being official and likely the cheapest option. I'd have to see more before I decide which of these are least out of my price range.

As with QW and Backfire which suit me fine, I don't think I will be ( spending extra money) getting Tak's offical version.

( but who knows ) with this Meg's looking the best it's going to be hard. I do really like his legs better than XT Apollyon


If Tak just told us what they were going to do down the road I would wait for their releases, but not knowing what they won't be doing and chancing not getting something only to have to pay double down the road would piss me off or not even been able to get it.


I guess I could use XT- megs for this re-reation

Don't drag Hasbro into Takara's MP plan. I dare say Hasbro will never release a Gun Megatron. Hasbro didn't even have any MP release announcement at SDCC and their recent MP pricings are just plain ridiculous. I no longer buy Hasbro MP unless they are releasing more oddball MP-11 mold seekers.
