a shelf-ish display of robots

My wife bought me MP-03 on Christmas 2006. For some reason I didn't even really think about collecting until September 2010 when I ordered an MP-08 and MP-04s. Since then, I've slowly built up a collection that I'm super happy with. Some of it's purchased online, some from members here and at tfw, some from retail and a few from my parents basement.

Updated shot of part of my collection (04/13/14)

Black Primes

Combiners

Masterpiece

Mastermind/Mech Ideas

FansProject

Miscellaneous

Anyway, thanks for looking. I really couldn't have done it without the help I've received from members here and tfw - either directly or reading through archives. Thanks!

-------------------------------------------------------------------

old collection…

I mostly collect 3rd Party, Masterpiece and black versions of Optimus Prime now…

Here's FansProject and Maketoys shelf…

Here's the MP's and alternators that i have. really happy with this as they're some of my absolute favourite.

and now black primes…

I limit myself to 4 shelves, one for Autobots and the other for Decepticons, the third for MP's and alternators and now one for Black Primes.

I'm almost content with the Autobot one - can't really think of too much more I want/need that's currently out (or within my budget!) other than what's on the way/unreleased.

...first!

Seriously though, you've got some really good end shit going there, and I especially like how your bottom shelf is like a still life comic mural.

Re: a shelf-ish display of robots

thanks dude! i'm pretty happy with the layout as well. the classics look a little better in person as they're kinda facing each other.

thanks for checking it out.

Awesome collection. Youve got all the essentials, IMO.

The only recommendations I have are:
  1. The FansProject City Commander upgrade kit for your Classics Ultra Magnus (he looks naked)
  2. The Classics version of Devastator - I love/hate this mold but I couldn't get over the Devy-shaped holy in my Classics collection so I compromised and picked up Energon Constructicon Maximus instead.
Other than that you have a fine collection, sir. Love how you opted for MP-04S rather than the "alive" Prime...it's like he's a ghost guiding Rodimus Prime.

thank you, i'm not a completionist so i am striving for a balanced collection.

the city commander upgrade is bought and paid for and sitting in my PoL. just waiting on the corbot axe and the henkei rodimus to replace the BiS version.

and the devy-hole will be filled by herc. right now it's just exgraver.

i'm actually a big fan of sleepy prime and you nailed exactly what i was going for.

thanks for all the kind words guys!

Nice collection and you display them wonderfully!

Funny, I also had MP-03... also in 2006. Bought it from some toy shop while visiting Calgary. Like you, for whatever reason I didn't think about collecting until years later (2009).

awesome collection man, really love the alt/mp set up. they were the first things i started with when i started collecting again,

too bad they ended the line, i would've loved more of those molds (HA's don't count, there's no restrictions other than seats/doors in HA's, alts had the seats, uncut (as much as possible) body panels, opening hood, tandem turning wheels, opening trunk and doors, interior, and 1/24 scale, all had these except ravage, who ignored the wheels and hood
