Ok this will be my last post on this subject. I've done a little more research and look at the figure again and did some measurements and the conclusion I've come to is it's a QC issue with the clips that hold the rachet joints in place. I measured the clips and they're not broken but are way to small to hold the joint in place. They're about 0.5-1mm to small. I've come to the decision to super glue it back together. It's what most of the threads I came across and were suggested to me concluded with. My dad is in manufacturing and he recommended a couple of glues that would be the equivalent of welding it back together. So I'm going to glue it and if I come a cross another one at a good price I'll replace it.
Anyways, Again I'd like to thank everyone for the advice and the help.
Quick Update: I used the strongest epoxy glue I could find and it seams to be working. Thanks again for all the help.
