They just seem so stubborn about this. I doubt they will. They can't remove their we need you to check in every 24 hours, or we will render your games useless statement.
It's their whole premise of control, and everything they want to do. They want to turn it into a video game rental system. It is the spawn of satan when it comes to a gaming console. You don't feel like you own the actual game, and that is the reason to have a gaming system.
Online use to be a feature just to play mutliplayer games. The whole premise of a console is just to play games, solo. That it is a gaming machine. Threatening people they will render your games useless and actually saying they will do it. Shows that their machine was built entirely for them to control you.

There will be always people that buy these new consoles no matter what they say. Whether it's because of the games, or whatever. Maybe, it's because they tend to overlook some simple facts. Or they rationalize while it won't bother them. And the difference is a lot of people just buy junk. Ipods are very junky, and very expensive, and require annoying software, that loves to take your money as well.
But this actually crosses the boundary of what a gaming system really is. They put other crap the priority such as blu-rays, tv, skyping. When people are already doing that with other electronics. And they say oh that stuff will still work and that won't require authentication checks.
But gaming, what a system is used for. When you make a purchase, you must check in with them every 24 hours or they render all their games useless. That is so insane. It's a gaming system that plays games, once you purchase that physical disc, it's yours to use for life, and online is not used to play single player games period. It's not logical whatsoever. It makes no sense. And to say that it's change, doesn't make any sense either.
Because you could still have servers(Clouds) up and have the same sort of setup. But forcing people to not be able to use something that they purchase. Which is a physical disc of a game. With most games that are single player, they don't need online. Makes them a greedy corporation, and controlling.
